Justin McConchie is a percussionist and educator based in Richmond, VA. He is an Adjunct Instructor of Percussion at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he teaches applied lessons and Percussion Methods and Techniques. Previously, Justin served as Drumline Instructor at Elon University, and has been an instructor, clinician, and adjudicator for middle and high schools across the country.
As a performer, Justin has appeared with the Richmond Symphony, Greensboro Symphony, Winston-Salem Symphony, Piedmont Wind Symphony, Chamber Orchestra of San Antonio, and the North Carolina Brass Band.
Justin received the Bachelor of Music degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, where he studied with Dr. Peter Martin, and the Master of Music degree in Percussion Performance from the University of Texas at Austin, studying under Dr. Thomas Burritt and Tony Edwards. He is a member of the Percussive Arts Society and an endorser of Majestic and Mapex instruments.
